Adding events to the website is simple. To submit an event, users will have to register with Breast Cancer Brawl (BCB) website. All registered users, when logged have the capability to submit articles. Each article that you submit should list the event and all pertinent information for players.
To submit an article, click the "Submit an Article" link under the 'User Menu'. The link will not appear if you are NOT a registered user.
Once you follow the "Submit an Article" link, a new page will appear.
Steps:
1. Insert a title (Include the name of your event, date, and location). For example, Breast Cancer Brawk, March 16th, 2009, Fort Scott, KS.
2. Enter all detailed information in the text area. You can insert links, format your text, etc. Please be specific in times, entry fees, locations, name of the store, city, state, entry fees, point sizes, etc. A good idea would be to type this up and preview in Microsoft Word or other word processing software, preview it, then copy and paste it into the article text box. You may insert images, a 'read more' tag, or even a page break if your article gets quite long. Once you are satisfied with your article content and title, move on to step 3.
3. Choose a category. Your category should be "Events"
4. Choose a section. Your section should be your general location of your event within the United States or other location. For Texas, your location would be in the Southern US.
5. Skip most of the other options until you get to "Access Level." Access level refers to the users who can "see" or "read" your article. Make this option "Public," as you want everyong to be able to see your article, not just registered or special users.
6. You may now write a short description in the "description" field if you wish. This is optional.
7. In the "keywords" section, you may optional add key words to your article. This helps the search function on the site. So you may want to put in things like "500 pts," or "steamroller," or even a state or city.
8. Scroll back to the top of the article submission page and save or cancerl your article. Save it if you wish to submit it to the admin for approval, or cancel it if you aren't ready to have it published. Once it's approved, the event will be added to the calendar page and it will appear on the website.
